Touch My Body (again)

Oh, these are exciting times, Mariah's new video is out!! (There isn't too much going on in my life right now, so just be happy for me, ok?).

Here's the video:

I'm loving this video! So funny and silly! Mariah's acting is hilarious as usual (but probably not the way she intended) but her body is looking hot (and the old-lady panties shot just made me laugh)! The funny guy is Jack McBrayer, who stars in 30 Rock, a show I mentioned a few weeks ago. He's so good at playing the nerdy guy, perfect choice for the video! And as my friend Andre would say "nerd is the new cool"™!

All the usual suspects are present on this video: the slow motion posing, a wind machine, a million skimpy outfits, Mariah's 2 "greatest hits" in all their bouncing glory... Now if only somehow there was an unicorn in it.. oh, wait, there is a unicorn inthe video!

Seriously, I think this is a fun video which matches the spirit of the song perfectly. And it's really cool that Mariah isn't afraid of playing with her own (crazy) image. You go girl!! I love how she says her last line "The download speed was killing me, please tell me you updated to 802.11N". She's so rushing through that sentence, obviously she has no idea what she's talking about! :)

Bit of trivia for you: this video was directed by Brett Rattner, who besides also doing other videos for Mariah (including Heartbreaker and We Belong Together) he also directed a little movie called X-Men 3: The Last Stand. How come this guy gets to be so involved with 2 of my greatest obsessions? So not fair....

And before you start leaving comments or thinking "She's fat, the video is awful", answer this question: do you like this guy??

You do? I thought so...(I do too, although Prison Break is boring...). If it wasn't for this video or this one here, you probably wouldn't know him. You see, those two videos, besides being very popular, were also direct by Brett Rattner, who happened to be the producer of Prison Break. The popularity gained from those videos plus meeting made Brett was a ticket to stardom for Wentworth. So, next time you're watching Prison Break, take a moment and thank Mariah, ok? ;)

To keep the Mariah-fest going on here, here's another treat for you: a great remix of Touch My Body! While the David Morales' mixes aren't released, this will have to do for now to make me dance! So uplifting and festive!! Wiiii! DOWNLOAD HERE!

Rotten Orange

A word of caution for those living or coming to the UK: when deciding on which mobile network to go for, do not choose ORANGE! Recently I finally decided to go from a top-up card to a pay monthly plan. Everything was great, got a nice deal, a lovely new phone, everything was going well.

So why am I complaining? Well, I recently changed my address at the bank, but still hadn't gotten around changing the address with Orange. So, they sent a welcome letter to my old address and my evil fat ex-housemate sends it back to Orange. They got the letter and what did they do? They barred my phone.

Ok, fair enough. But is it too much to expect the company who contacts you several times a month about new deals and other shit like that to at least inform you that they’ve barred your phone? Sure, I wasn’t expecting them to come to my house and make me a cup of tea or rub my feet while telling me the news, but a simple text message warning me or letting me know that my phone was barred? I had no idea this was happening until someone emailed me saying he could not send me a text message. F*ckin bastards! And don't get me started on their customer service (appalling would be the word), but even worse having to listen for dozens of spoken menus (more on that below) to get to talk to someone.

I must admit that not everything about Orange is bad though. I certainly praise them from their Equal Opportunities Policy. After all, they apparently hired this woman to be their Orange Answerphone Woman:

You may not recognize her, but this is Mab, the Queen of Magic. Yes, she may have done her share of evil deeds in the past, killed a few people, plotted against human kind but that did not stop Orange for giving her another opportunity. Don't know what she sounds like? Take a look at this video (note: she's the one NOT in white).

No, seriously, I would have preferred a million times if they were actually using Mab for the voice. She was evil, but very cool while the woman they use is soooo annoying. Whenever I try to make a phone call, there she comes, saying "Sorry, calls from this phone have been barred". She says this with such pleasure and malice that I'm sure that they had to cut off the evil laughter at the end of the sentence. In all her recorded messages she sounds like she's doing you a favour, sounding patronising in everything she says. Why Orange would you hire this woman? Who did she have to sleep with?

Surprisingly, I'm not alone on this. Check this news here, where it says "Subscribers have telephoned to complain about the new spoken menu they hear when picking up their voicemail messages". There was even a petition online to ditch the Voice From Hell. Needless to say, I've signed it already!

Welcome to Hollywood, mon ami!

In case you didn't know there's a new X-movie coming out next year and it's called X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Although I've known about this new movie for quite sometime now, it always failed to generate the kind of excitement I would normally get from the other X-movies or even the new Batman.

There's something about Wolverine that I just find very boring and a bit annoying... It's not his character per se, but how he always gets the spotlight, how he's always everyone's favourite. You could have called the previous X-movies "Wolverine and friends" that nobody would have complained. Well. some news emerged this week that made me really excited about this film: Gambit has arrived!

For those of you who don't know who he is, he's one of the coolest X-Men ever. Gambit (whose real name is Remy LeBeau) possesses the ability to manipulate kinetic energy. He is also skilled in card throwing (when they're charged with kinetic energy), hand-to-hand combat, and the use of a Bo (which is basically a big stick, think Donatello in TMNT). Personality-wise, Gambit reminds me a lot of Sawyer from LOST ( or maybe I should say Sawyer reminds me of Gambit...). They both share misterious past full of evil deeds, the witty remarks, the seductive way with women... And speaking of women, they both also seem to only show a more vulnerable side of themselves with their ladies (Rogue and Kate respectively). There were rumours about Gambit being in X3 and played by Josh Holloway, but unfortunately that didn't work... He would have been the perfect Gambit (sigh...):

But now Gambit is confirmed to the in Wolverine, and the chosen actor is Friday Night Lights actor Taylor Kitsch. I've never watched that show, so I have no idea who this guy is. I just hope he does Gambit justice.

I'm also curious on how Gambit's costume will look like. His costume was always one of my favourite in the comics, but I don't know if it will work in "real life". They'll probably go the same way as the X-movies and ditch the original costume for something a bit more realistic. I just hope they keep the red and black eyes, that has to be there.

Other notable announcements in terms of characters and casting? Well, the one I'm more excited about is Deadpool. Major-hottie Ryan Reynolds will be playing Deadpool, which in the comics always wears a mask. As cool as the mask is, I hope that they don't cover Ryan's face the whole time, eheh:

Also announced was that Liev "Cotton" Schreiber landed the part of Victor Creed, a.k.a. Sabretooth. Fingers crossed that the new Sabretooth will be an improvement over their last attempt in X-Men 1, it was a bit lame there...

To finish things off, there's also Dominic Monaghan playing Barnell, (also known as Beak), a mutant with bird-like physiology (in some versions of the comic) and with the power to manipulate energy and electricity, and Danny Huston, playing William Stryker. Stryker was the bad guy in X2, played by Brian Cox. To be honest these two leave quite indifferent, probably I don't really know a lot/care much about their characters...

The last announced character is John Wraith, a.k.a. Kestrel. To be honest I'd never heard of this one before, and according to wikipedia, "he was part of Team X along with Wolverine, Sabretooth, Maverick, Mastodon, and Silver Fox. Wraith was a powerful teleporter, capable of getting the team out of sticky situations after their job was finished." What's suprising about this one is the "actor" they chose to play it, none other than Will.i.am! Yes, he's the guy from the Black Eyed Peas, I never even knew he could act, let alone be a powerful mutant! Well, I guess if things get rough I suppose he can always try singing "My humps"...

And that's all we know for now. Silver Fox is also going to be a character in the movie, but still no word (besides rumours) on who's going to play her. What do you all think, excited about X-Men Origins? Will that guy be able to be Gambit? I'm fairly excited now with all these announcements. Will it be any good? Only time will tell...

The Top 3 *PROPER*

Well, the Top 3 won't be a surprise to most of you anymore as it was already revealed a few days ago. But such excellent movies (in which I cry a lot) deserve a lot more than a quick mention, so here we are again for The Top 3: Tearjerker Moments, take 2! I should stress that this list was not a countdown of my favourite movies, but the following 3 are definitely on my top favourite movies of all time.

Number 3: The Colour Purple

The Colour Purple is one of those movies that I had decided it was boring without having even watched it. But one day unintentionally I caught it on TV and just couldn't stop watching it. It's about a black woman called Celie, striving to escape a destiny of abuse, oppression and poverty. There is abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse, pain that no one should have to go through but she manages to survive.
Celie was separated early on from loved ones (her sister and her children) and thrown into a loveless, unfaithful and abusive marriage. It is a painful story but at the same time a very hopeful one too.

All the performances on this movie are just wonderful. There's Whoopi Goldberg in her breakthrough role (and quite different from the comedy roles she would become famous for) and also a little someone called Oprah Winfrey (with a few extras pounds).

And what moments make The Colour Purple worthy of being at number 3? There are several in fact. One is when Celie helps Sophia (Oprah) at the grocery store, without even saying a word and you can just feel how Sophia is grateful, with such kind help, something she was no longer used to. Then there's that scene at the church where Shug Avery reunites with her father. The "winner" is definitely the ending scene: after many, many years Celie is (finally) reunited with her sister and her children. She sees them from afar, coming to her house, their colorful vests flailing in the wind. It's such a good feeling to witness how this woman finally gets what she always hoped for, never losing hope, always ready to help others and with courage to fight against her own fears and shortcomings. Inspirational to say the least.

Number 2: Requiem for a Dream

Requiem for a Dream was a movie I stumbled upon almost by accident. When this trailer for LOTR: The Two Towers was released, I fell in love with the soundtrack they used. It was so powerful and moving that I decided to do some googling on it. I eventually discovered it was a rearranged version of a composition by Clint Mansell, originally made for a movie called Requiem for a Dream. I downloaded the movie, knowing nothing about it (somehow I imagined it to be a modern version of A Midsummer Night's Dream) and decided to watch it. And WOW!! I was not ready for what that, such a powerful, shocking, moving and tragic movie (or more than a movie, an experience).

But I digress (I have to do an Top 11 Movies...). It cried in way on this movie that to this day as never happened again. I started towards the end with when Sara's friends (Sara is the old lady) visit her at the hospital, and then there's this (beautiful) shot of them sitting on a bench outside crying, so disturbed by what their friend had become. I usually can tell when I'm going to start crying in a movie. I mean, maybe someone dies, and the soundtrack gets really sad, and you just know that tears will start rolling down your face soon. But on this one nothing like that happened. I started crying without even realizing it, only noticed it a few moments later. It's really difficult to explain. And from that moment on, it's just like a rollercoaster ride of tragic and shocking events that happen to all the characters. I cried until well after the credits rolled...

Note to all of you: you MUST watch this movie. It's painful to experience it, but you have to do it. And how Ellen Burstyn (she played Sarah) lost the Oscar that year for Julia Roberts I'll never understand...

Number 1: Gorillas in the Mist

It was a real strugle for me to choose between this and Requiem for a Dream, but I've watched this so many times now and always cry a lot, that this had to be my number 1.

For those of you who don't know this movie, it tells the true story of anthropologist Dian Fossey (who is played by Signourey Weaver) as she cares for gorillas in the misty mountains of Kenya.
She manages to get really close to the gorillas, especially their leader, which she names Digit. Eventually (and that's one of the saddest moments in the movie) Digit is brutally murdered by hunters, who cut off his head and hands to make ashtrays. At some point Dian also has to take care of Digit's little baby gorilla, before evil people send him out to a zoo. The scene where she is saying goodbye to this baby gorilla it's also one of those moments where I can't help but cry... Dian was misteriously murdered (it remains unsolved to this day) while protecting "her mountain" and "her gorillas" as she would to call it. She was buried next to Digit, on her mountain, and her faithful friend unites their souls forever joining the circle of pebbles on their grave into one...

This one has it all I suppose: animals, strong female character with an emotional breakdown, goodbyes, death, sacrifice. It pushes all the right buttons for me, in making me cry! Again, how Sigourney Weaver didn't won the Oscar she was nominated for her performance still baffles me... And I just realized that she was on both my Top 3 now (as Ripley in the Kick-ass Girls). Even Sydney didn't manage that :)

Touch My Body

During my (admittedly short) hiatus on my blogging activities, something big happened: Mariah's new single - Touch My Body - premiered exactly one week ago! It's been 3 years already since her last album, so everyone with even a mild interest in good music was excited. So, is it any good??

The short answer is 'yes'. When I first heard it I was a bit underwhelmed by it, was expecting something with a bit more edgy and fierce, as we knew it was co-produced (along with Mariah) by the guys who did Umbrella. So, at first I must admit I was not impressed. But then, the chorus was stuck in my head, and heard it a few more times, and then a few more, and then I loved it! I guess this song is a grower, not a shower, a song that doesn't immediately strikes you, but one that you wont mind listening on the radio many times.

The song is also quite sexy if you listen closely to the lyrics:

Touch my body
Put me on the floor
Wrestle me around
Play with me some more
Touch my body
Throw me on the bed
I just wanna make you feel
Like you never did
Touch my body
Let me wrap my thighs
All around your waist
Just a little taste
Touch my body
Know you love my curves
Come on and give me what I deserve
And touch my body

Wrestle me around? Throw me on the bed? I think Mariah likes it rough, haha. Who can blame her? :) And would say it would be a nice song for those "special moments" but in light of recent events, I think I'll pass on that one...

Click below to listen to the song:

And this Touch My Umbrella, an awesome (unnoficial) mix of the of the song with Rihanna's Umbrella! It's a really good mash-up:

And a funny thing happened with this song. I was listening to it on my headphones at work last week. I obviously didn't know the lyrics (yet), but a loud and luscious "Touch my body" escaped from my vocal chords.... My boss, who sits just across my desk boss, turns to me and says with a very surprised face "You said that out loud" and I was like 'what?' and she said "you just said touch my body.... Are you listening to Madonna??". Oops indeed!
For the next 5 minutes she was looking at me like this:

How to lose a guy in one night

And I'm back! Recent events (more on that below) in my life made me just feel like I wasn't interesting enough to have a blog (yes, drama queen!) and decided to close it. Anyway, it's back, and I promise the next time I'll go for the less dramatic option of just saying I'll be taking a break. And thanks to everyone who commented and were disappointed with me shutting it down :)

So, the recent event I mentioned, wanna know what happened? Ok, let's say we have Guy 1 (G1) and Guy 2 (G2). They both agree to meet for a date on a friday night. They both seem to a have a good time and after the date, G2 sends a text to G1 saying how he had a great time and how adorable he was. They both meet again for coffee a couple of days later and then for dinner and drinks during the week. Text messages afterwards again, with G1 saying he had a good time and would like to meet during the weekend, and G2 replies that he'll only make time if he can get a kiss this time. Still with me? OK, let's continue. G1 and G2 meet on a friday night, go for a meal then a gay bar, and with the help of alcohol they kiss and decide to go somewhere more private, like with a bed :) Off they went, then there's candles and everything, even Mariah as background music. After fooling around for a while, it's time to sleep, and they sleep really close, holding hands and everything.

Comes morning, they go for breakfast and talk about meeting during the week. Comes the week, G1 emails and texts G2 to meet again, dinner/date/whatever. Gets a late replies, very vague and cold, completely different tone from the week before. Finally, on Valentine's day (horrible day anyway...) G1 gets a message on gaydar from G2 saying that they don't have a lot in common, take care, etc.

Unfortunately, I am Guy 1, the one who got screwed in all this... Obviously I'm a bit biased, but is this normal? Was I naive in believing that we were actually getting along well? To me it was definitely something that happened that night we were together, although at the time everything seemed to go pretty well. Still, when telling my adventures last weekend to a friend, I knew something was up and realised that maybe I did not have that many reasons to be happy.

This brings me to something that has always been present in my life which is this overwhelming feeling of insecurity. No matter what, is always feel that the rug will be pulled from under my feet at any time, that whatever good things I have today will not be the same tomorrow. And most of the times I'm absolutely right... Even at work, whenever I go on holiday, I'm always scared that when I come back to the office everyone will be mad at me because of something they found out about me while I was away. It's a horrible feeling, I can't avoid not always worrying about the next day, worrying by antecipation, never fully enjoying the moment at present. Unfortunately there are no pills to fix this sense of insecurity nor no easy fix... And episodes like this last one certainly don't improve matters...

At least this gives the perfect opportunity to post one of my all-time favorite songs (and video) by Mariah. It describes perfectly how I'm feeling right now, it's the best break-up song, the realistic approach instead of the "I will survive" one (lyrics here). Yeah, drama queen again, I know this wasn't a "proper" break-up, but still disappointing.

See ya!

Due to lack of funding, this blog will have to shut down. No seriously, right now I just don't feel like maintining this any longer. But it was fun while it lasted! Thanks to all of you who visited it and left your comments!!

Oh, and I could leave this cliffhanger and not tell you what my Top 3 is... But I know you wouldn't be able to sleep without knowing this, so here goes:

Number 3: The Colour Purple

Number 2: Requiem for a Dream

Number 1: Gorillas in the Mist

And that's a wrap! See you around!

Top 11: Tearjerker Moments (Part 2 of 3)

As you may recall I'm counting down those moments where I just can't hold the tears. There's was one occasion that I won't include here as I did not actually watch this scene (although I did cry). It was while my friend Sara who was telling me over the phone about this cartoon she'd watched. From what I remember there was this blind young girl who got caught in a fire (or some kind of disaster) and her dog went after her to save her. And he did save her, but he did not survive his many injuries and died... How tragic and noble.... Oh well, let's go back to the countdown before I start crying again shall we?

Let's recap what happened so far:

Number 11: Nils Holgersson
Number 10: King Kong
Number 9: Family Ties
Number 8: Alias

and so landing at number 7 we have...

Number 7 - Sex and the City: Samantha has cancer

I am now rewatching the final season of Sex and the City, where Samantha finds out she has cancer. On this one it's not just a particular moment, but several which still make me cry... The way she tells Carrie about her illness on the taxi or that moment later at Miranda's wedding which is particularly heartbreaking because she does it without ever looking like a victim. And I just watched the episode where she starts losing her hair, and then Smith (her boyfriend) also shaves his head so she wouldn't be alone in that... awww... sniff!

Number 6 - The Lion King: Please wake up....

I must have watched The Lion King at least 3 times at the cinema when it came out and to be honest I don't remember crying there. But after that, when watching the DVD (or at the time the VHS tape) I cried A LOT, especially when Simba's father dies and and poor Simba is there, thinking that his father might just be injured or passed out. So tragic...

Number 5 - Love Actually: To me you are perfect

Love Actually was one of those movies where I never expected to cry. I don't usually get very emotional about romantic stuff... yeah, the pretty guy left the pretty girl, how sad, yada yada yada ... But this one was the exception. I cried when Laura Linney's character is in bed with the guy she always wanted but then had to go meet her stupid brother. I cried when Emma Thompson finds out her husband was having an affair... But the biggest 'offender'? When the cute guy goes to Keira Knightley's house and starts showing her all those cardboard signs, saying how he always loved her but he knows they can't be together... Oh just look at the picture there. I just wish he'd done that to me :(

Number 4 - Steel Magnolias: Sally Field crying (again...)

This one is without a doubt the gayest entry on this countdown :) It's the typical girlie drama movie. I mean it's all about a bunch of women united by true friendship and hard times. The film is very sad (Julia Roberts dies...) but it's a particular moment that always gets me. Sally Field (who plays Julia's mom) is acting all strong after learning about her daughter's death. Suddenly, at the funeral she completely breakdowns and starts crying and yelling and it's very moving... And Sally Field is one of those actresses who just has the gift of making cry. She now stars on Brothers and Sisters and more often than not whenever I watch an episode, I know I'll at least get teary eyes.
_____________________________________

What other movies made me weep (even more than these)? Will I find a way to give Alias the number 1 spot again? Clue: no. Did Mariah make me cry with her moving performance in Glitter? Clue: Hell no! (although I do know someone who cried!). Check back tomorrow (or the way things are going, maybe in a couple of days) for the Top 3!

Top 11: Tearjerker Moments (Part 1 of x)

It's time for another Top 11! I'll be counting down my Top 11 Tearjerker Moments, on films and TV. I had many ideas on what my next Top 11 would be, but ultimately decided to pick this topic as it's something that we usually talk about with my friends and ultimately make fun of each other for crying at a certain movie or even cartoon. You'll probably notice a trend in my choices: it's usually animals, strong people with big problems but still being (or pretending) to be strong and goodbyes. So, let's start with the runners-up:

The 'Yes I cried but not enough to make it to the Top 11':

- Thelma & Louise: When Thelma and Louise decide to just go for it.

- Lost: When Locke learns of his father betrayal, after donating him one of his kidneys. The score they used for that scene is one of the saddest song I've ever heard...

- Finding Neverland: Kate Winslet is dying and her kids decide to perform a play for her. It was really sad, but maybe the fact that I'd just had a huge fight with my cat and was feeling guilty made it even sadder :(

- Happy Feet: This starts out as very fun and cheerful movie, but then towards the end it gets surprinsingly serious and very sad...

Here we go!

Number 11 - Nils Holgersson: Hello??

You're thinking 'Nils what??' Well, Nils Holgersson was a cartoon that I used to watch many, many moons ago, I guess I was around 7 or 8. It was a about this boy, Nils, who was very cruel to animals and so he was cursed, which leaves him shrunken and able to talk with animals. He is then "adopted" a group of wild geese who become his family. In the end, the curse is lifted and Nils returns to his normal size. What he failed to realize is that animals couldn't understand anymore, including his geese friends... Oh, this is the first time I remembered crying while watching something on TV... I'll never forget when Nils desperately tries to reach out to his geese friends, but to no avail.... he's just a regular human again. And as Nils was stood there alone crying, I too cried.

Number 10 - King Kong: Don't shoot him!! (pretty please??)

King Kong, really?! Yes, it's true.... As I told you before, animals are probably what makes me cry the most and King Kong was still an animal (albeit a very, very big one!!). That scene when he is being shot by all those planes at the top of the Empire State Building and then Ann tries to stop them from killing him, that's the saddest moment and I couldn't hold the tears... I don't know, such a powerful creature dying for love, so sad... S-U readers Gabi and Bornsleepy had the 'honour' of wittnessing this precious moment of me crying at the movie theather :)

Number 9 - Family Ties: Goodbye my friends...

This show obviously needs no introduction as I'm sure everyone from my generation watched it during their teenager years and on countless reruns on TV. What made me cry like a little girl was the final episode: at the very end all the actors (who had been together for at least a good 10 years) come on stage to say goodbye to each other, hugging and crying... and I cried with them.

Number 8 - ALIAS: ______ dies!

Oh, there couldn't be a countdown without ALIAS, no could it? Well, actually it could, if this was the Top 11 Worst TV Shows! There are many sad moments throughout the 5 seasons but the episode were ____ died (I'll withhold her/his identity for those of you still watching - MAJOR spoiler) was not only shocking, but also extremely emotional and very sad. It started with Sydney crying and saying goodbye at the hospital and then comes the scene at the funeral... and the tears start rolling down my face. And then to make it even worse, Sarah McLachlan's song "Dirty Little Secret" starts playing, oh, the drama!!

Note: If you click on the link to hear/watch the song on youtube, it's actually a fan video from the O.C. when Marissa dies. I stopped watching The O.C. around season 2 and always hated her, so couldn't care less!

Back to the Past!

And the results are in! Let's check out the nice chart for the results. Remember the question was

If you had a time machine where would you go?

More than half of the people who voted would prefer to go to the past. And that is, according to me, the right answer! I guess it depends on how you look at it, but I'd definatly prefer to go back to the past and change a few things in my life. I'm not of those persons who says "oh, I have no regrets whatsoever", I do have quite a few :) So, to be able go back and do a few things differently (knowing how it all went before, as it was all in the past) would be a fantastic opportunity! And by changing the past, I would improve my present, which because I was in the past, would then be my future... hold on, my head hurts! Bottom-line: yes, I'd choose being able to go to the past . And who can turn down seeing real-life dinosaurs??

How about those who voted for travelling to the future? What is so appealing in that? One thing I can think of would be knowing next week's lottery numbers or maybe steal the next iPod and then "invent" it myself and gets LOADS of cash! But see, that would be possible with going to the past, I'd just have to go back a week and play the winning lottery numbers that I now know in the present. As you can see 40% of you clearly chose the wrong answer ;)

A HUGE thanks to those 2 lonely souls who voted for the 3rd option "What a stupid question". I hope I'll continue to surprise you with lots more stupid questions...

The next poll will be.....

Which would you rather have more of? Intelligence or Confidence?

1) Intelligence

2) Confidence

The Magician...

This lovely lady pictured here (and I say lovely in the loosest sense of the word…) is Maya. She's a tarot reader turned into a fame-seeking B-list celebrity (in Portugal). But I don't really care that Maya has slowly turned into much uglier, much older, very bad version of, let's say, a Paris Hilton as long has she keeps doing her Tarot thing.

You see, I started reading her weekly horoscopes way back during the late 90s. And for some reason, 90% of the times she gets it exactly right! Want proof?

Picture it: Porto, February 2000. A young Mariah Carey fan was planning everything to go to a Mariah concert in Madrid. This was before it was quick and easy to buy tickets online, so a friend of a friend who lived in Spain offered to buy me the tickets. Everything was going well, when just a few days before the concert, the person who was supposed to buy the tickets said she just couldn't do it (bitch!!). Dreams were shattered, all hope was lost...
Then comes Sunday, a new horoscope, and to my surprise Maya said that travel plans thought to have fallen apart would still happen. I thought she was out of her mind, but then what happened? My friend Elsa's boss was in Spain she called asking me if she wanted her to get me the tickets, and the next day I had the tickets in my hand! Two days later I was in Madrid... From then on I became a believer!

Another funny thing happened when I decided to have Maya's daily horoscope sent to my mobile. It all started very well, but then good days were bad and vice-versa. Something fishy was going on... I decided to check the daily horoscope online on a website, and voila! the horoscope being sent to my mobile was one day behind! I called my network operator and tried to explain it to them in a way that did not make me sound like a complete nutcase. The lady was very nice, but she sounded like she was indeed talking to a crazy person, saying 'yes' to everything.... To my surprise she called me back a few minutes later saying that I was absolutely right, there was a problem with the dates and that they would offer me 3 months of that service for free, for all my trouble.

But I digress.... My card for the month of February is the Magician, and according to Maya, it will be a very auspicious and dynamic month! Just the way I like it!! In terms of relationships, she tells me to be patient, that slowly things will come (god I hope so!). Ok, Maya, I’ll try to be patient… As they say, good things come to those who wait, right? In terms of my professional life, seems like I’ll have to deal with some delicate situations especially something to do with judging or take a position in acts involving friends. I wonder what that means…

I’ll also get along particularly well with Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, so if that’s you, then aren’t you lucky!! ;)

Maybe in a month or so my stupid poll question should be if Maya got it right for you or not…. Anyway, have a great February!
