Top viral videos of all time

Kony 2012 was unleashed on the internet just few days ago, and it has already been viewed more than 120 million times, beating out the likes of Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Rebecca Black, Beyoncé, and Miley Cyrus.

I find the list below of the top viral videos of all-time quite interesting as of all the 15 videos, Kony 2012 is the only one that touches a more serious matter instead of being just a new pop video or clever online ad.

Does this really make Kony 2012 the "most viral" video of all time? It's hard to argue with that assessment. The video's passed through our collective feeds and inboxes so many times that more than a shocking documentary, it's starting to feel more like chain mail. The filmmakers clearly accomplished the goal of raising awareness about Joseph Kony's war crimes. Now we need assess whether the documentary will succeed in accomplishing any good. Will this documentary make the world a better place? Or will Kony 2012 just be the latest video to top the charts until Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber take the top spot again?

Real Housewives of Disney (SNL)

Lindsay Lohan hosted Saturday Night Live last weekend and surprisingly it wasn't the train wreck most people were expecting (or hoping for...). By far the best skit of the show was The Real Housewives of Disney, starring Snow White, Jasmin and a slightly intoxicated Cinderella!

Check out the video below:

Jay-Z , Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Carter parody on SNL

Last week Maya Rudolph hosted Saturday Night Live and one of the highlights was this skit where she does a great impersonation of Beyoncé. And lucky for us a few other celebrities want to meet baby Blue Ivy Carter so there are also super funny impersonations of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and Nicki Minaj.

The Prince impersonation is also hilarious and as usual Kristen Wiig almost steals the show with her impersonation of Taylor Swift. And I say almost as Justin Timberlake makes a brilliant cameo as Bon Iver. Check out the video below:

Whitney Houston

Maya Rudolph does the best Whitney Houston impersonation on Saturday Night Live. Just a couple of days ago I watched this skit on SNL, the Miley Cyrus Show, and Maya did a guest appearance as Whitney, warning about the dangers of drug use. And two days later Whitney sadly passed away... Ironic and sad...

Whitney Houston parody on SNL - Maya Rudolph

Those who know me know me as a Mariah Carey fan, and there was the supposed rivalry between the two divas  until for the surprise of many they did the When You Believe duet and suddenly they were performing together and being friendly etc. So not only Whitney and her songs were part of my childhood, but "through" Mariah grew to be quite fond of her and so saddened by the new of her death. May she rest in peace.

Virgania Horsen - Winner!

Kristen Wiig is funny in just about everything she does, but these skits with Virgania Horsen are some of my favourites from her and SNL. Enjoy the videos below:

New Avengers trailer

The new Super Bowl trailer for the new Avengers movies is now available online and slowly we're getting a bit more information on the plot, as it now seems that Loki is the major vilain. Also we get the first glimpse of what The Hulk looks like. Looking pretty good so far!

And here is the Hulk, taken from the new Avengers trailer:

And here is the Hulk again, doing what he does best - smashing up stuff!

And this sequence looks pretty cool - maybe these spaceships are from Loki / Frost Giants?

And finally, a clearer shot of Hawkeye:

Lana Del Rey - Videogames Remix

Since I mentioned Lana Del Rey on my last post, decided to share with you a really good remix to Videogames, one of my favourites songs from Born To Die.

It was actually thanks to this remix that I got into this album as I heard a few times in Portugal. One of Porto's radio station Radio Nova Era was playing this remix a lot even though I don't think it's an official remix - just some radio DJ with good taste I presume.

Anyway, here is Lana del Rey with Videogames (Club Clique For The Bad Girls Remix) :

Lana Del Rey Parody by Kristen Wiig

This week on Saturday Night Live the always funny Kristen Wiig - pretty much the only reason why I still watch this show - made a funny impersonation of new songbird Lana Del Rey.

Not only it was really funny but also a great way to tackle all the criticism Lana (the real one) received after her perfomance a couple of weeks ago on SNL.

I personally don't think she is all that great live (from what I've seen) but am really enjoying the album so far so I say "Go Lana!". And for all of you who can't find it on Youtube or live outside the US here is the funny video:

Betty White turns 90!

Eternal Golden Girl Betty White celebrated her 90th birthday last month and NBC celebrated it with a star-studded bash and her very own TV special Monday on NBC.

Several celebrities came out for the milestone birthday TV tribute, including Mary Tyler Moore, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Carol Burnett, Ellen DeGeneres, Joel McHale, Hugh Jackman and Ray Romano. "Betty, you're going to hear a lot of jokes tonight about your age. But take comfort in the fact that come tomorrow, you won't remember any of them," Amy Poehler joked.

President Barack Obama provided a pre-taped greeting for White's birthday, which is actually on Jan. 17. "I can't believe you're 90 years old," he said. "Will you please produce a copy of your long-form birth certificate?"

Here are some of the funniest bits of the show:

A special Weekend Update with Seth Meyers entirely dedicated to Betty White

A funny brief skit of President Obama writing a Happy Birthday card to Betty White

And Tina Fey, talking about the wise advice she received from Betty White....
