Real Housewives of Disney (SNL)
Lindsay Lohan hosted Saturday Night Live last weekend and surprisingly it wasn't the train wreck most people were expecting (or hoping for...). By far the best skit of the show was The Real Housewives of Disney, starring Snow White, Jasmin and a slightly intoxicated Cinderella!

Jay-Z , Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Carter parody on SNL
Last week Maya Rudolph hosted Saturday Night Live and one of the highlights was this skit where she does a great impersonation of Beyoncé. And lucky for us a few other celebrities want to meet baby Blue Ivy Carter so there are also super funny impersonations of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and Nicki Minaj.
The Prince impersonation is also hilarious and as usual Kristen Wiig almost steals the show with her impersonation of Taylor Swift. And I say almost as Justin Timberlake makes a brilliant cameo as Bon Iver. Check out the video below:

Whitney Houston
Maya Rudolph does the best Whitney Houston impersonation on Saturday Night Live. Just a couple of days ago I watched this skit on SNL, the Miley Cyrus Show, and Maya did a guest appearance as Whitney, warning about the dangers of drug use. And two days later Whitney sadly passed away... Ironic and sad...
Whitney Houston parody on SNL - Maya Rudolph
Those who know me know me as a Mariah Carey fan, and there was the supposed rivalry between the two divas until for the surprise of many they did the When You Believe duet and suddenly they were performing together and being friendly etc. So not only Whitney and her songs were part of my childhood, but "through" Mariah grew to be quite fond of her and so saddened by the new of her death. May she rest in peace.

Virgania Horsen - Winner!
Kristen Wiig is funny in just about everything she does, but these skits with Virgania Horsen are some of my favourites from her and SNL. Enjoy the videos below:

Lana Del Rey Parody by Kristen Wiig
This week on Saturday Night Live the always funny Kristen Wiig - pretty much the only reason why I still watch this show - made a funny impersonation of new songbird Lana Del Rey.
Not only it was really funny but also a great way to tackle all the criticism Lana (the real one) received after her perfomance a couple of weeks ago on SNL.
I personally don't think she is all that great live (from what I've seen) but am really enjoying the album so far so I say "Go Lana!". And for all of you who can't find it on Youtube or live outside the US here is the funny video:

Wii're coming!!

Wii-remote waggling and masturbation jokes have been around pretty much ever since the Wii was launched - been there, done that (the jokes that is!). On the other hand (pun intended), watching Alec Baldwin - who is hilarious in 30 Rock - being the butt of the joke in this SNL clip somehow brings it to a whole other level. "Oh trust me, you're mother's gonna be a natural!" HA!

From the UK to Porto we migrate

I'm finally going on a well deserved holidays, back home to Porto (that's in Portugal, in case someone less geographically gifted is wondering...). YAY!! As usual I expect it to rain, as in the 2 years I've been going there on hols, it always has to rain. Cold winter? Rain. Huge drought in the summer? Rain. But in the midst of seeing all those familiar faces again it doesn't really matter, so let it rain!
It's been 3 months since I last was "home" and so much has changed since my last visit. For starters, it'll be my first time there since this. But not all changes were this positive, unfortunately as (sad) recent events ocurred that'll change the life of people very dear and close to me (and I won't say more on this). Anyway, let's be optimistic for a change and believe that everything is going to be just fine! Oh yes it will!!
Of course, one of the things I'm most excited about is seeing my gorgeous niece again! She'll be 3 months next week, all grown up! I've decided I'll be the uncle who may be far away, but whenever he goes there takes lots of presents! (which by the way I still have to pack, somehow I always leave packing for the very last minute... )

Aww! Cute or what? Well, tomorrow I won't need any photos because I'll be there with her (but hopefully I won't have to change any diapers...).
I won't be posting much on the next few days (if at all), as I'll be busy trying to see everyone I miss here and catching up on everything (yes, that includes all the latest gossip!). And posting from my PC there would probably be an adventure in itself, as it's from around this time:

So, to all my friends in Portugal it's a "see you soon". To everyone else, wishes of a Happy Easter, lots and lots of chocolate eggs!
And I couldn't end this post without a little treat for all of you, could I? This is another new song from Mariah's new album E=MC² (the title obviously reflects Mariah's inner scientist, she's a true Einstein!) called Migrate that she performed just a few days ago (with T-Pain) on Saturday Night Live. I love this new song, can't help but to bounce to the awesome beat ;) Should be even better on HQ studio version, but we still have to wait a few more days for that. And after seeing this performance I am so taking a cane with me the next time I go out!
Enjoy the video for Migrate live at SNL by Mariah Carey and T-Pain:
